Totally feeling Adam on all of this - especially his comments around how hard and infeasible it is now to tour or to promote releases. I’m not sure if it’s a money thing, an audience thing, or an aging thing (I.e “I’m too tired to put this much effort in without a lot of feedback/reward”). The making of the music is fun and invigorating but everything else around it is just exhausting now for me. I’m finding it harder now more than ever as well and considering just taking a decent year or two break altogether.
Thanks for sharing Emma! Its safe to say that the rapid change that the distribution side of the music industry has been undergoing has most definitely arrived on the live scene. I find it very painful feeling the growing despondency of the musicians and bands im grateful to meet, and as a fan of live music its scary to think what the future may hold. Interesting times indeed
